We may not be able to do the project on illegal music sharing and Limewire, because it has already been done by someone in the past: http://wiki.ucalgary.ca/page/Illegal_Media_Sharing

Initial Research Statement

Illegal downloading of music is a huge on-going problem around the world. Programs, such as Limewire, allow anyone with access to a computer the ability to easily download music for free. This takes away from the original artist's income as it discourages millions to not buy CDs. In addition, the downloading programs cause many security issues. Virus's are often downloaded in files disguised as music and many anti-virus programs still cannot prevent them from harming your computer. Also, spyware is an increasing issue that is only becoming more of a problem as users are using free-downloading music programs. What should be done in order to stop illegal music downloading, or at the minimum, how can we discourage instead of incourage users to participate in it? We plan on investigating how these programs attract people to use their programs while they have many security issues, how programs can be so popular while they are encouraging illegal actions, and what can be done to prevent such actions from taking place.
