Talk:To Link, or Not to Link

While it is probably out of scope for your project, you may be interested to read up on the longer history of "hypertext links" via people like Ted Nelson cf. [1]. It might also be interesting for you to reflect on the role of search engines (especially Google, via PageRank) in imparting "meaning" or "intent" to WWW links, and also what the role of Microformats [2] is in trying to correct or improve some of the phenomenon that un-typed links have caused.
